GRITT, JUDGE:
An application of claimant, Shelley Moran Kriger, for an award under the West Virginia Crime Victims Compensation Act, was filed January 23, 1995. The report of the Claim Investigator, filed August 17, 1995, recommended that no award be made. An Order was issued on October 27, 1995, adopting the Investigator's recommendation and denying the claim, to which claimant's request for hearing was filed November 15, 1995. This matter came on for hearing September 13, 2002, no one appearing for the claimant, and the State of West Virginia by counsel, Joy M. Bolling, Assistant Attorney General.
The claimant's 32-year-old husband, John T. Moran, was stabbed to death in Oak Hill, Fayette County. He was an innocent victim of crime, but no award was granted by this Court in its initial decision because there was no showing of economic loss.
At the hearing of this matter, counsel for the State represented to the Court that an agreement had been reached with the claimant to pay certain "replacement services loss" defined by W.Va. Code §14-2A-3(h) as "expenses reasonably incurred or to be incurred in obtaining ordinary and necessary services" in lieu of those the victim would have performed.
Claimant documented the following replacement services: $340.00 for tax work, $120.00 for snow removal, $325.00 for grass cutting, and $340.00 for labor performed on the deck of the claimant's home, for a total of $1,125.00.
Based on the foregoing, the Court hereby grants an award to the claimant in the sum of $1,125.00 as set out below.
